Those last-minute purchases, just like impulse buys at stores while waiting to check-out, all add to the bottom line.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-90373176759831584442009-11-17T14:51:01.329-08:002009-11-17T14:51:01.329-08:00This is a great idea! This is a great idea!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-70189283090813992072009-11-17T11:15:43.580-08:002009-11-17T11:15:43.580-08:00I agree....the marketing department really over pr...I agree....the marketing department really over prices our retail products. Even our ready post items can be purchased cheaper at Wal-mart. If the cards are more then $3.00 a piece...they will not sale in this small rural office.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-70157397026569043502009-11-13T09:22:20.401-08:002009-11-13T09:22:20.401-08:00From what I can gather, these cards are high price...From what I can gather, these cards are high priced. I live in a rural area and high priced cards will only sell as a desperation event. The very same thing happened in retail with the bears and stuffed animals and other items we offered. When they can get bigger and better at Wal mart for half the price, why on earth do we think they are going to buy it at our offices? We should be able to get terrific wholesale prices from vendors on retail items due to the ammount we order. Is anyone trying to get competitive prices at all or do we just swallow what Hallmark tells us they have to have. And if we are getting a decent break at wholesale and then adding in a huge profit, we'd better realize we will be offering these cards down the line at 75 to 90 % off just to get rid of them. This is a great idea that we could use to our advantage if we would just once learn from past mistakes. Try listening to your retail associates at the window.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-18667058938030880402009-11-13T07:19:53.452-08:002009-11-13T07:19:53.452-08:00Should have done it a long time ago!! Living in a small community, I wouldn't want to think how many time's I've had to drive to "town" (15 miles away) to pick up a greeting card for a birthday or other occasion. What a GREAT convenience this would have been to be able to just whip into the post office and pick up a card--no matter what the price!! The greeting cards are small, inexpensive, and would be easy to display, even in the smallest of offices. Let's give the small offices an avenue for additional revenue, too!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-41537979812865155652009-11-12T07:12:13.773-08:002009-11-12T07:12:13.773-08:00It's a great idea and a mystery why it didn...It's a great idea and a mystery why it didn't happen years earlier!Grannybunnynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-17828163481465972632009-11-12T06:14:31.822-08:002009-11-12T06:14:31.822-08:00I think it's a good idea but will take a while...I think it's a good idea but will take a while before customers realize we have them and take advantage of buying them while they're at the post office. As for shoplifters, yes, that occurs in all retail establishments but I don't think it will be a large enough loss to outweigh the extra revenue. Since most of the displays will be close to the service counters it will happen less frequently than in a mass market store where there are rows and rows of displays out of sight of employees. The cards are a good start, now we need to find more ideas and services to add to improve our bottom line.Merknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-24253978937946464272009-11-12T05:53:20.434-08:002009-11-12T05:53:20.434-08:00its about time! but watching for shop;ifters will...its about time! but watching for shop;ifters will be an additional challenge....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-10040913395181281282009-11-11T05:12:51.612-08:002009-11-11T05:12:51.612-08:00Good idea but who is going to watch for shoplifter...Good idea but who is going to watch for shoplifters?????? You know that they will be there we have ReadyPost items walk out all the time. And then there is the problem of people just standing there looking at the cards and not buying anything else. AND ANOTHER PART OF OUR JOBS THAT IS GOING TO SOMEBODY ELSE. We don't have enough clerks in our office now because upper management says we have too many and have had for years.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427238665701917635.post-90933318828351394512009-11-10T12:41:17.014-08:002009-11-10T12:41:17.014-08:00It's awesome!
