Greeting cards - How many have you received? Take the poll.

Can you believe, I'm the first Postmaster General and I actually got three greeting cards BY E-MAIL this year. The nerve!

I got one from my brother Josiah, who is running his farm in Pennsylvania. He said he was "going green," this year. I deleted it. Another came in from Ye Old Print Shoppe Suppliers LTD. I don't think I'll buy my ink from them. And I got another from a jokester calling himself "King George."

What is it with this trend? I sent out print greeting cards this year (custom made, I might add) and even added a few names to my distribution list. (Alexander Hamilton still will not get one until he takes back that comment he made about my weight!)

But I haven't got as many back -- and I'm wondering why. Overall, postmarks are down about 11 percent this year -- and many of those may be Christmas, holiday and greeting card declines.

Have you received many cards?

Comment here and take a second to fill out the poll on the upper right-hand corner of this page.

Have received about 20 cards this year, up from last year's count of about 6 or 7. Mailed about 40 out!

I have sent out about 50 cards this year; however, I have not received that many....I also send an animated card by email to some folks IN ADDITION to their regular card. I always send a Christmas card that contains a rural mailbox on the front. Some years, it is not easy to find a card with a mailbox; however, I have done that now for about twenty years!!

Although I find reasons to send a note to many thoughout the year to let them know I'm thinking about them, the December holidays are the one time I'm certain to touch base with all those I think about throughout the year yet never really get a chance to visit. My invalid Mother who finds joy in little these days delights at receiving cards from those she knows and my sister and I make certain her cards are in the mail each.

I love getting Holiday Cards and as such mail them too. I have received fewer cards so far this year but since I was late sending mine I am hoping everyone else is late and they will be coming soon.

I sent out 60 photo cards with letters and have received 5 back. I am upset with that, I look forward to Christmas cards in the mail!!

I've received three card by USPS and 3 by email. It's head to head and hoping for the USPS to come out ahead.

I make all my cards by hand, and I always give out WAY more than I receive back. This year, I mailed aobut 35-40. I don't expect cards back from everybody, as some of our friends are elderly and just don't send cards anymore. But, for my family members who live out of state, I don't think there's any excuse!!

Only received one; I didn't send any! Might send one tomorrow. I look forward to retirement (probably next year) when I will have the time to rebuild friendships and relationships with cards and letters. Is "lack of time" a common excuse? It makes me wonder about life's demands and priorities . . . .

I mailed 40-45 christmas cards and have received 25 so far. I have not received any email cards and am thankful for that.

We received 13 cards so far. Far less than say 10 years ago. I now send real paper cards with my photos through the internet; it's not those e-card! This company prints it, stamps it and mails it the next day for less than what it costs at a card store. It's so fast simpler and faster. Get a free sample. www.GreetingCardDelivery.com

I send around 75 cards every year. I love to send, but have seen the decline in the cards I have recieved this year.

I'm Hallmarks best friend, since I send cards all year long.

The idea of being able to read something over and over again from a friend or loveone holds so much more meaning.

I used to send 80 cards every year, but have become laxed in the past few years. This year I've received 8 cards so far. I purchased cards this evening to reply to those I've received. Check out Premium Postcards at USPS.com. You can import your own pix & contact list; & yes, they are mailed thru USPS. There should be a link on the USPS Blue page; they have log in info to receive 50 free cards from Premium Postcards.

Regardless of how many I receive, I send out about 80 custom photo cards each year, always using Madoona and Child stamps (Jesus is the reason for the season). So far I've received 23 cards.
