They like us. They really do.
According to a recent Rasmussen poll ,83 percent of Americans say it's like there will still be a need for the Postal Service in ten years.
Of those same respondents, 50 percent suggested a cut in the number of delivery days rather than a federal subsidy.

I would rather see one less delivery day. I really don't think most people would notice if they didn't get mail one day. I'm all for Saturday Sunday closures.
I would rather see a Saturday closure and/or no delivery than other options.
Future of the PO
We should open a virtual Post Office in Second Life and sell virtual stamps. Run two contests in Second Life:
One: to get ideas for the Post Office of the future and
Two: ideas for stamp designs that we will sell only in Second Life.
The stamps and services would be virtual but the profits would be concrete dollars! Bennie, supervising the Second Life environment would would be a perfect addition to your Blog duties. :-)
I do not believe it would be good for our business nor to raise future business. Yes, employees can think that they would like to have weekends off but we need to provide a service and right now we need every day possible for delivery. That is one more loss to another delivery that we would never gain back. We have to think of the business and not our personal wants. We would further delay how service for Express and Priority than what it is now. Why would we want to jeopardize how services?
In this service orientated climate,six day delivery is one of the Postal Service's strong points.We don't need to be delaying mail a day.We would lose more to the competition!!
