Images of the Storm: A compilation

The winter of 2011 will go down as a tough one for much of the nation.
And nothing tells the story like a good photo.

As a tribute to employees’ efforts, the Postal Service compiled media footage of employees battling — and overcoming — Old Man Winter. Click here to see the video.

Also, click here to see photos of employees taken by the media.

A big thanks to all the carriers that make the effort and go the extra distance to get mail to the customers. Of course, that is what we pay them to do....

Wish you would post links to the video that worked. It isn't opening in IE or Google Chrome.

I'm kinda on the fence on this one. I have a P.O. Box and I don't believe I would "pay" for the service. If it is included with the P.O Box as a courtesy, that would be OK. On the other hand, I can see how it could be very helpful, especially for a business. I say do a "Test Run" and see what kind of response we get.

Disregard the last comment - I typed it in the wrong section. LOL

Kudos to the men and women who delivered the mail on those yucky days. Where I am, where we weathered a blizzard on February 1st, I did not have any mail delivery. I felt that it as pretty justified, considering the wind was blowing the snow sideways and the streets were very treacherous. Snow plows didn't make it to my street until early the next morning. Shoveling was worthless because the wind blew snow onto freshly shoveled paths within minutes. I think that we do our best and there are just times, few and very far between, when mother nature wins. We claim victory far more often than not.
