A reader from Louisiana wrote, "If every employee bought one book of Forever stamps once a month at $8.80, it would generate $5.5 million in revenue a month, or $67 million annually."
He further writes, "This is a way to invest in our future, jobs and organization. Let's stop aying billson line and keep the money within."

Great idea. I buy the stamps that my customers don't really like to use myself - plus I buy the ones I love for myself and my parents or daughter. I plan to pre-order lots of the Animal Rescue stamps for us all as soon as that webiste becomes active.
Why not give to your favorite charity but do it with stamps. If you normally give $20.00 in cash: give $10.00 cash and $10.00 in forever stamps.
Great idea....think about how much you may spend on a favorite vice you have like Starbucks....
My RCA sends her Mother and Grandmother their Christmas cards to ythem early and adds a book of Christmas stamps so they can send out 20 additional Christmas cards. Also a lot of people add a book of forever stamps when sending sympathy cards. It's hard enough to deal with a loss without worry about stamps. I also pay all my bills by mail and certain credit cards try and charge me late charges but I send a lot of my payments by Priority mail with delivery confermation. If we do not support our business and promote it there will not be a business one day.
One would think employees support their own place of business but that's unfortunately not always true. I've already ordered the Animal Rescue stamps for myself, my daughter and my mom. I, too, buy the stamps my customers don't like and send my payments by mail. We also need to remind our families and friends to use the mail as much as possible - not only paying bills but ordering magazines, free samples, there are even websites to send free post-cards by mail. Reading all the news articles lately people seem to love getting personal mail but nobody sends it much, so why not drop a postcard or greeting card into the mail each week to someone just to say "I'm thinking about you."? Put a reminder into each paycheck and posters in every post office telling employees of ways to use and promote the post office.
There is no excuse for any postal employee to pay all their bills online. Forty-four cents is a bargain, and you are helping secure the future of the postal service.
I also think we all need to send more cards and letters to loved ones and encourage them to do the same!
We really need to get the Animal Rescue stamps in front of the public. I have lots of friends who are big animal lovers and I have shared the info about these stamps with them. I plan to buy several sheets for myself and as gifts. These could really be best sellers! I don't think we promote our speciality stamps enough. People can't buy what they don't know about.
I also include them in wedding cards, bday cards, sympathy cards, graduation cards, baby cards (they all send thank you's so why not) and it saves me TIME and FUEL and wrapping paper!
I do not pay anything on line and when I order something I always request USPS delivery. I have even had several companies say they can not do that- then do it after I insist. I tell them the price of what it will be priority mail and it's often times less expensive. The call center person is amazed, so we need to educate also. They want business now also, so they seem more flexible.
This also suggests that we take a $9 paycut postal service saves 67 Million, $900 paycut 6.7 Billion writeoff the deficit. Are you ready?
I make and send cards monthly along with all of my bills. I firmly believe if we don't support our own business how can we expect to have a job in the future.
This also suggests that we need to $9000 paycut per employee for 6.7 Billion writeoff the deficit annually. Are you ready?
i always give books or sheets of stamps for different occassions.i agree all postal employees should buy stamps and mail all of their bills by mail.
I do pay some bills online, but I offset that by buying Postal Money Orders to pay the other ones. I like having the money deducted instantly from my checking account and, as a bonus, my card pays me back in points that I can exchange for merchandise. I bought by wife's iPod just by paying the rent with money orders. Win-win.
I have already begun doing this and buying from a small office to help their revenue.
Instead of sending all employees 67 reminders a year about FSA's and other mass mailings to all employees, spend that money educating the public through advertising our products better. "If it fits, it ships" doesn't tell the average person much. Our services need to be explained better so people who DON'T work for the Postal Service can understand them. Another way to generate revenue is to write a personal letter and mail it instead of e-mailing it once or twice a week. Go to the phone book, randomly pick a name, send a card that says "Just wanted to say Hi."
