Have you ever wanted to share your fun photos, offbeat stories, and positive postal news and experiences? Rules of the road? Keep it upbeat, be considerate, and keep it clean.
I only take public transit when my car is inoperable, as it requires 2 buses and a light-rail train and takes 2 hours, as compared to a 15-20 minute car ride.
I sometimes walk but not very often since I never know when I will need my vehicle.
In the summer I ride my motorcycle. I get about 50 mpg compared to 25 with my mini SUV. But in the winter I need the 4WD.
I walk to the Post Office in the morning, about 2 miles, and home at noon (hour and one half) and drive back in the afternoon, when the weather cooperates:)
I live 8 miles away in another small town and when the weather is nice I ride a bike. The way there and back is all paved so it's not bad. Kind of fun. Good exercise too. Beats paying $3.50 or more for gas.
With only about a 3 mile commute; I ride my bicycle nearly every day unless there is too much snow and then I will walk. The only time I will drive the car is if it's needed for work purposes. It's wonderful to experience all the sights, sounds, and fragrances of nature that people in their cars miss out on.
If it was feasable I would walk or bike to work. As for Public Transit - it is not available where I live. I wish it was!
I walk to work everyday and I love it.It's good exercise and I save a bundle on gas in these out-of-control gas price days.
