Put a Spring in Someone’s Step

This spring, Sunrise Greetings is partnering with USPS and American Express for the launch of the Spring Gift Center Display.

The display combines gift cards, greeting cards, and Priority Mail Flat Rate Gift Card Envelopes to create a quick and easy solution for customers looking for a convenient gift package all at a single location. The set goes on display today, April 16, and will be available for a limited time only.

What other gift items or services would you like to see the Postal Service offer? Comment here.

Greeting cards seem like a great item for us to sell, but why can't we get these displays in the small rural offices where customers would otherwise have to drive several miles to a store to pick up a card? It seems these special offers are always placed in city offices where people have a drugstore or grocery store across the street.

I think sometimes we overlook the small PO offices which their neighbors consider the corner store almost. We need to put some there. And make it generic so we can put Mom's day cards, then Graduation cards, then Dad's day, etc.

In order to grow our business we absolutely need to increase our products in small rural Post Offices where there are few alternative retail outlets. Sell visa and commercial gift cards and offer services that our residents can't easily access. Build our presence don't take it away!

YES, YES, YES!!! Get these in the Small, Rural Offices. We could sell several items that are offered in the large offices BUT we are not allowed the products. Now how crazy is this???

I absolutely agree. Why close us down when we have the potential to rake in the revenue. Not only giftcards and greeting csrds, but how about passport, notary, and fax services.

Agreed that the small offices well away from discount department stores would really benefit. Also, the moment the artwork which highlighted at the time the Lighthouse collection of stamps dissappeared, we immediately lost sales and dissappointed customers. The artwork needs to be brought back to business area Post Offices where the normal lunchtime worker does not have time to get to the store and needs a gift item quick!

It's not easy to find nice, quality stationary. Why not offer some for sale. It would boost mail volume too.

I think we should offer business centers in post offices, where customers would have access to computers, copy and fax machines, office supplies, notary service, etc.

A coffee shop inside the post office. Brilliant!! You could go in, get your cup of coffee, then wait in line to mail your package. That would be great for the Christmas season! I wouldn't dread those lines so much.

The Postmaster General should read all of the commens on the Postal Blog.He should also have a meeting with rural area Postmasters ,so that we could share our ideas and hopefully he would go with some of them.We as Postmasters know what our communities want and need.
