State stamps by the sheet

When the PO issues "state" stamps, why do they have one sheet with all 50 states? People want to advertise their own state not all of the others.

Roger Toomey from Creighton, MO, suggests that we issue individual state stamps by the sheet. And he goes a step further.

"We should sell those state stamps only in those states," he writes. "If a collector wants all 50 they have to make contact with others in other states and make exchange through the mail."

What do you think? Good idea?

We have and still have State stamps. I have sheets of Kansas Statehood stamps right now. They are even "Forever" stamps. Yes it would be nice to have sheets of each State. And if you wanted another State's stamps, you can go on USPS.com and order them online.

The first one is a good idea and the second one is a dumb idea. If people want to obtain state stamps from other states the Postal Service should make it as easy as possible and not difficult. Also, any Post Office should be able to sell any of the state stamps and not just their own state stamp. Can you imagine how much of a pain it would be for the stamp distribution offices to make sure that each office only ordered their own state stamp. We need to make it easier and not more difficult for our customers.

Excellent!!!!! Most of us have thought the same thing for years! Whats the hold up? And collectors requesting stamps from other states along with a sase, just makes for more revenue. Its a win win idea.

Sell all stamps equally- If you want a pane of a particular stamp there is online, there is 1-800Stamp24. We have multiple ways to buy stamps.

I like the idea of having sheets of each state stamp. Most people only want "their" state. Also, collectors would want all of them, but let them order them from usps.com; don't make them have to contact each state to buy them.

If customers wanted only one or a few stamps maybe even with that state's postmark, then exchanges could come through the mail.

It has been a while since the 50 states were issue, perhaps a new version is in order?
