Cold weather just around the corner

How do you prepare yourself for the coming cold weather months?
Do you get flu shots? Buy new boots?
Do you read up on hypothermia or frostbite?
Or do you work in Arizona and really don't care?

Comment here.

I just love all 4 seasons....I actually look forward to seeing snow arrive each year. :)

I rejoice when winter arrives!!! It is so hot here in Mississippi and when we do get lucky and get snow it is such a treat!!!

Yes, I get a flu shot, wear layers, and make lots of soups, stews, and chili. I too enjoy the winter, but then, I'm not a carrier and I don't have to worry about walking and driving in the beautiful slush and ice. Hats off to you carriers who brave the cold winters and the hot summers.

I agree with the previous post. Thank you to our carriers, city and rural, who are the backbone of our business. Now, let us hire a few more so that our people don't get worn out before their time.

I tend to dread snowy weather; I worry about my carriers out on the country roads. Last year, one of my carriers went into a snowdrift. He had someone try to pull him out, and ended up breaking his axle. I'm always thankful when the carriers get back from their routes on really snowy days!!

The winter weather, with its' icy roads and deep snow, creates a sort of comradarie among those of us who commute to work and deliver the mail in those conditions. In many ways I think we enjoy it and are proud of the way we handle our vehicles and ourselves. We also all look forward to spring!

I take a "shot" every morning before I hit the route ;)

I'd rather see snow then ice....this morning freezing rain doubled my commute time. :(
