I'm good with it as long as we can waive the 13-ounce aviation security guildelines. Hopefully because these are purchased with a credit card on-line we will consider them "known" customers and not have to require them to be presented to a USPS retail employee. That wasn't the case with the pre-stamped Express Mail envelopes that were avaialble on-line in years past.

Are they going to be easily shown to be different from the envelopes and boxes that don't have the postage already prepaid. We already have a lot of customers who think they prepay and don't have to pay when they mail them. I just hope it doesn't cause more confusion.

I think it's an awesome idea. Many customers dread having to go to the Post Office to mail things and/or not knowing the correct amount of postage. Now, they can just fill and address the box, then turn it over to their carrier. Furthermore, boxes will be purchased that are never used, generating revenue without USPS even having to provide the actual service, similar to selling stamps to collectors.

Will be good for small home based businesses but the ones I deal with would need to order hundreds at a time 25 wouldn't even cover their daily priority mail.

I think this is going to add to the confusion.... whatever happened to the K.I.S.S. method?

From the pictures sent out with the indicia, this will be very similar to other online payment methods.

Great idea!

I just sent an envelope with a book in it. Wish I had have known about these, but didn't. They should make them available through the "after hour" postal service system. I can only go to the post office before and after work - meaning I NEVER get to deal with a person, just a machine. It could have offered me one - or even all three prepaid envelopes - but instead I paid twice as much to send one envelope, and I had to buy the envelope too!! Dang it!
Oh well, guess the post office made out this time - but if they made these items more readily available - people would use them MORE........
