Would you deliver to this tidy box?

Not only would I deliver it dutifully, I would do a sniff-check for freshness!

It's kind of a cute idea (good way to "recycle") but it would have to be approved by the postmaster. If it's the proper height, has a post or something running through it so it's sturdy & stable and the "door" opens easily and latches securely I suppose it could be approved. At least they wrote their house number on it! The carrier had better check it for "surprises" left by the cat, though.

Hey, we're the ones who said "If it fits it ships"

That was my temporary mailbox in Moorhead, MN! At the time, one of my kids saw the carrier take the photo! Our house was getting new siding and gutters, etc. and the contractor backed over our regular mailbox. (notice the sawhorses and siding in the background) The contractor had to park vehicles in front of our regular mailbox spot for weeks anyway on the other side of the driveway, which would have made it impossible for us to receive mail during that period, so I fashioned this temporary mailbox. For stability, I weighted the lower containers with water and used a couple of bricks inside to hold the upper container which was not as secure. Here it is, three years later, and one of my sons just came across the image on your blog while doing a Google search for images of Moorhead, Minnesota. Thanks for immortalizing it! :D

FYI - After the contractor finished our siding, etc., we put up a nice, brown Rubbermaid mailbox. :)
