Original caption, 12/17/1948, Tuscon, AZ:
"Mails In. Jane McIntosh happily reads her mail after retrieving it from a plastic mailbox. The devices, which are made in Tuscon, enable the owner to see whether the postman left anything worthwhile without going to the trouble of opening it." Transparent is the latest buzz word, but this see-through mailbox probably would not be a big seller in this age of privacy concerns.

I want one anyways! It would be great for decorations in the house, even! How fun.
