An Easier Way to Retire

For anyone thinking about retiring in the next few years, the process can seem overwhelming. With many choices to make and forms to fill out, a little guidance can go a long way to ensuring a smooth transition to those post-working years. The eRetire system is deigned to help employees through the process of retirement. It offers a free counseling session, the option to view and print an annuity estimate, request an application package and select a retirement date. Detailed videos on the entire process are also available on a segment basis – you can choose the process you’re interested in learning more about and select that particular video to view.

A link to the Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance Program (FEGLI) calculator is also available on the website. The calculator allows a future retiree to determine how life insurance carried into retirement will change over time as well as how different coverage combinations can affect the premium paid.

With so many options to consider for retirement, having a one-stop-shop for retirement needs will help ease the transition.

Birds of a Feather

Peacocks are notorious for their brilliant colors and aversion to other species of birds. What might not be so common is where they choose to spend their time. For two particular birds in Ohio, that uncommon gathering place happens to be the local Post Office.

The pair of peafowl, which is the terminology used to refer to both male and female peacocks, decided to make a Post Office in Pickaway County their unofficial hangout spot. The colorful couple keeps to themselves and provides a visually appealing sight for postal patrons to enjoy as they go about their business.
